The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in Abkhazia in consortium with World Vision International and AAH started implementation of one EU funded project named” Building Resilient Communities in Abkhazia”. Project aims to strengthen the rights of young people in Abkhazia, including marginalised youth and persons with disabilities (PwDs), through a series of targeted actions, while also building the capacities of local CSOs and providing them with opportunities to support youth social inclusion and resilience initiatives.
The present CALL FOR PROPOSAL specifically looks at one dimension of DRC activities to ensure that:
1. Pool of experts on physical rehabilitation is created and capacitated and their knowledge is further transferred to other specialists working with PwDs
Through the present CALL FOR PROPOSAL DRC intends to select one local CSO with adequate and demonstrated experience in a competitive process. The selected entity will be awarded a Grant for a period of 18 months to facilitate activities at community level, in line with DRC and EU requirements. The award is categorized as a Financial Support to Third Party (FSTP) and will translate into the signature of one Sub-Grantee Agreement (SGA) between DRC and the awarded organization.
Key Deliverables
1. Capacitation of five professionals within the selected entity along international physical rehabilitation standards with the aim of creating a pool of capacitated experts. Specialists in the field of physical rehabilitation shall undergo the professional training programme for physical therapy including professional training program “Ergorehabilitation (ergotherapy) for children and adults”. Practical exercises shall be a part of the training.
2. Capacitated experts conduct on-the-job training and modular courses for 7 selected rehabilitation centres.
3. Development of one practical handbook for practitioners to ensure that minimum standards are applied and transferred onwards
4. Organize five public events to increase the visibility and awareness of acquired skills.
Only officially registered organizations and those having experience in respective areas are invited to participate in this call. During the selection, an eligibility check will be performed based on the supporting documents provided by the applicant. Applications will be selected according to the predefined criteria and methodology.
Procedure and deadline for submission of a proposal:
Interested organizations are requested to submit the following documents:
Proposal in English.
A detailed budget.
A copy of the registration certificate for applicant organization;
A copy of the internal regulations/statutes of applicant organization;
The FSTP Application package must be submitted not later than December 10th, 2024, before 17:00
One original document in a sealed envelope at the DRC office in Galkhuch by courier service or by hand-delivery. The envelope must bear the full name and address of the applicant and the words “FSTP FOR CALL 02”.
